Laid Back Software is a software development and consulting company dedicated to support of the OS/390 and z/OS Operating Systems. Keith Moe, who has over thirty years of Mainframe Systems Programming experience, is now available for consulting work and is offering licensed software. In addition to consulting work (for which he is willing to travel just about anywhere), some of his tools and system customization effort will be available at no charge.
Now available is the TSO Environment and Administration Manager, which provides TSO Users with the ability to customize their TSO Environment with over 200 LOGON Parameters and Options.
Consulting is available on all aspects of installation, customization, maintenance, and organization of z/OS and OS/390 systems. Although based in Silicon Valley in the San Francisco Bay Area, we are willing to work remotely or travel just about anywhere.
The use of TSO as a tool for supporting the modern mainframe (z/OS) environment has decreased in recent years and both IBM and ISVs have let their development of new TSO based tools and support for existing tools atrophy, favoring distributed computing platforms and web access. While seemingly cost-effective, this trend has not led to increased productivity of the IT Professionals tasked with the support of the mainframe commensurate with the cost.
